Classic Hymns

Some written recently, some over a century old, these great Hymns are and will remain classics.

Filled with His goodness, lost in His Love! This is Blessed Assurance, written in 1873 by Fanny Crosby and Phoebe Knapp. Recorded 5/26/2020

A relaxed version of good ol' Amazing Grace. HIS Grace is simply astounding, and so meaningful as we age.

This is a classic Christian hymn called Great Is Thy Faithfulness.

The Old Rugged Cross, recorded on Good Friday 2020. I will cling to the old rugged cross!

A classic old hymn, this song was written in 1896 by J.W. VenDeVenter and W.S. Weeden: "I Surrender All"

A very old hymn, the lyrics written by Charlotte Elliot in 1836, then the music composed by William Bradbury 13 years later. Without a bridge or a chorus, a haunting Prayer to Jesus our Savior - “Just As I Am”.

Many people rank this song as the greatest Christian hymn of all time. I didn't know there was a competition lol! But it is a deeply moving song, written by Reginald Heber (1783-1826) with music (The Nicaea) added in 1861 by John Bacchus Dykes. It's called "Holy Holy Holy" --

"There's Room At the Cross For You", a song written in 1946 by iconic songwriter Ira Forest Stanphill

A hymn written in 2001 by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend called “In Christ Alone”. I love these hymns, and even though this one is recently composed, it ranks with the best.
